yep, i have another question Smile
I am now finished with my mesh. I have a body and alphathingy group in milkshape.
1. Must i edit the body group for high shoes? like moving the foot up a bit and ad a heel or something
2. which joints do i need? It's a complete dress, but without the arms, just some parts over the shoulder... And how must i add the joints? I know how to add joints to a group (like the head joint for a hat group) But the whole dress is one group, i have no idea how to add joints for all the parts...
3. when i add the body group for shoes for example, must i add joints to the whole foot or just the heel? no idea. XD

Okay, for the shoes....if you have the shoe mesh already made then you need to adjust the feet to fit the shoe shape. Also depending how high heel the shoe is will determine what bone you assign it too. I usually assign my high heel shoes to the calf bones because if the foot is rotated in an animation the outcome is horrid. Now for the dress this is where you *MUST* know how to use weights. Weights will be the only possible way your dress assignment will turn out the way you want it.

Well this is hard to explain but i do it like this
1. for shoes-
If you want just make a heel and put to the feet you just need to assign your heel to right foot, left to left right to right!

BUT if you make full shoes i do it like this!

i assign shoes just on calfs joint because when i assign it to the feet joints it looks so weird in game! so you use you left shoe and assign it to left calf joint..and the same for right

But before you do that you should assign feets from body group also to calf...like this

joints and other questions 110

and the you unhide your Shoes group!!! but hide the body!

joints and other questions Ihu13

SO do teh same thing just with other calf
remeber left shoe to left calf, right to right!

If you want assign dress dont touch the body group, hide the body group and do it like this!
First
click on spine0 and the select everything where is green joint, the
click on spine1 select everything till the green joints end, the select
spine2 select everything till the green joints end!

joints and other questions 311

joints and other questions 410

so do teh same thing also with
spine 2 select everything till the green bone end and assign!

Then for bottm part of dress or any outfits, select pelvis joint and then select all till the end of the green bone but not shoes!

joints and other questions 510

then select l_thigt, here i used other outfit so i can explain better!

joints and other questions 610

then select r_thigt and select liek this!
joints and other questions 710

so this is how assign outfit like you made, but if you made outft which has a hands and something else you will need to assign the hands and others!
So i dont know explain good, i try explain best i can and i hope you will get somethinhg!

This is way i assigning !

hope somone will help more!
